Description
Lucy Maud Montgomery, publicly known as L.M. Montgomery, was a Canadian author, best known for a series of novels beginning with Anne of Green Gables. In 1908, Montgomery published her first book, Anne of Green Gables upon which it became an immediate success. She then followed this with a series of sequels with Anne as the central character. In the last year of her life, Montgomery completed what she intended to be a ninth novel featuring Anne, titled The Blythes Are Quoted. It included fifteen short stories (most of which were previously published) that she revised to include Anne and her family as mainly peripheral characters; forty-one poems (most of which were previously published) that she attributed to Anne and to her son Walter, who died as a soldier in the Great War; and vignettes featuring the Blythe family members disAnne is the mother of five, with never a dull moment in her lively home. And now with a new baby on the way and insufferable Aunt Mary visiting - and wearing out her welcome - Anne’s life is full to bursting. Still, Mrs Doctor can’t think of any place she’d rather be than her own beloved Ingleside. Until the day she begins to worry that her adored Gilbert doesn’t love her anymore. How could that be? She may be a little older, but she’s still the same irrepressible, irreplaceable redhead - the wonderful Anne of Green Gables, all grown up… She’s ready to make her cherished husband fall in love with her all over again! cussing the poems.
